Overview
Responsibilities [About the Role] We are looking for experienced biology professionals to help train and evaluate advanced AI models so they can reason like real-world life science experts. In this role, you’ll use your domain knowledge to design challenging biology tasks, review AI-generated outputs, and define clear scientific evaluation standards across a range of biological disciplines. This is a flexible, remote freelance role that can be done alongside your existing research, teaching, or professional commitments. [What You’ll Do] As a Biology Expert – AI Trainer, you will: • Evaluate AI-generated answers to biology questions for factual accuracy, depth of understanding, and scientific rigor. • Design realistic biology scenarios, prompts, and problem sets (e.g., molecular pathways, experimental design, data interpretation, genetics and genomics questions). • Create scoring rubrics and structured evaluation guidelines to assess model performance in your area of expertise. • Provide high-quality written feedback to help improve the reasoning, explanations, and scientific communication of AI models. • Collaborate with AI teams to refine tasks, datasets, and evaluation methods over time.
Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Biology, Life Sciences, or a closely related field. At least 2–3 years of research, teaching, clinical, or industry experience in one or more of the following areas: • Cell Biology • Molecular Biology • Genetics & Genomics • Microbiology or Immunology • Biochemistry • Physiology or Neuroscience • Ecology, Evolution, or Environmental Biology • Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or Computational Biology Strong grasp of core biological concepts such as: • Molecular and cellular mechanisms (DNA/RNA, gene expression, signaling pathways) • Experimental design, controls, and common laboratory techniques • Data interpretation for biological experiments (e.g., sequencing, microscopy, assays) • Quantitative and statistical reasoning in biological research Excellent written English, with the ability to explain complex biological ideas clearly and precisely.
