Overview
Responsibilities [About the Role]
We are looking for experienced biology professionals to help train and evaluate advanced AI models so they can reason like real-world life science experts. In this role, you’ll use your domain knowledge to design challenging biology tasks, review AI-generated outputs, and define clear scientific evaluation standards across a range of biological disciplines.
This is a flexible, remote freelance role that can be done alongside your existing research, teaching, or professional commitments.
[What You’ll Do]
As a Biology Expert – AI Trainer, you will:
• Evaluate AI-generated answers to biology questions for factual accuracy, depth of understanding, and scientific rigor.
• Design realistic biology scenarios, prompts, and problem sets (e.g., molecular pathways, experimental design, data interpretation, genetics and genomics questions).
• Create scoring rubrics and structured evaluation guidelines to assess model performance in your area of expertise.
• Provide high-quality written feedback to help improve the reasoning, explanations, and scientific communication of AI models.
• Collaborate with AI teams to refine tasks, datasets, and evaluation methods over time.
Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Biology, Life Sciences, or a closely related field.
At least 2–3 years of research, teaching, clinical, or industry experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Cell Biology
• Molecular Biology
• Genetics & Genomics
• Microbiology or Immunology
• Biochemistry
• Physiology or Neuroscience
• Ecology, Evolution, or Environmental Biology
• Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or Computational Biology
Strong grasp of core biological concepts such as:
• Molecular and cellular mechanisms (DNA/RNA, gene expression, signaling pathways)
• Experimental design, controls, and common laboratory techniques
• Data interpretation for biological experiments (e.g., sequencing, microscopy, assays)
• Quantitative and statistical reasoning in biological research
Excellent written English, with the ability to explain complex biological ideas clearly and precisely.
