Responsibilities [About the Role]
We are seeking a highly skilled Japanese language expert to help train, evaluate, and improve advanced AI language models. In this role, you will use your deep linguistic knowledge, cultural insight, and writing expertise to enhance AI performance in Japanese comprehension, translation, writing, and reasoning tasks.
This position is ideal for linguists, translators, editors, teachers, writers, or professionals with strong Japanese language proficiency and excellent written English.
[What You’ll Do]
Core Responsibilities
• Evaluate AI-generated Japanese text for accuracy, fluency, grammar, style, and cultural appropriateness.
• Create and review Japanese language tasks such as translations, paraphrases, rewrites, summaries, and conversation prompts.
• Identify linguistic errors, tone issues, logical inconsistencies, and cultural inaccuracies in AI output.
• Produce high-quality reference answers, scoring rubrics, and explanations to guide model improvement.
• Annotate Japanese text for structure, meaning, and context when needed.
• Generate high-quality Japanese content across formal, informal, technical, and conversational contexts.
• Provide detailed feedback to refine AI performance in writing quality, reasoning, and communication.
Qualifications • Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese (reading, writing, and grammar).
• Fluent written English (C1 level or above).
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in:
– Japanese Language & Literature
– Linguistics
– Translation/Interpretation
– Education
– Communications, Journalism
– Or any language-related field
• Proven ability in at least one of the following:
– Professional translation or interpretation (JA ↔ EN)
– Writing, editing, or proofreading Japanese content
– Japanese language teaching or curriculum development
– Content creation, localization, or communication roles
• Strong attention to linguistic detail and the ability to analyze complex language tasks.
• Ability to follow detailed guidelines and switch between tasks with accuracy and consistency.
